Athlete Reviews .....

Check out what the Athletes think of Jeremy Cronin and his Coaching.......

 Chris

The coaching and support that I received from Jeremy Cronin has been outstanding. Due to a back injury I didn’t have much time to train for IMNZ and I therefore had to use my time wisely, Jeremy was a big part of this in the swimming section of the race.  He refined my “old school style” in no time at all, so that with very minimalistic pool time I was able to complete the IM swim as fast as I had ever, with far less effort than ever before, leaving me fresh for the rest of the day.  I am constantly amazed at Jeremy’s ability to watch my style and not only point out what is wrong, but precisely identify what is causing the problem and explaining to me how to correct it – his explanations were such that correcting these issues was incredibly easy and a very quick process.  Not only did Jeremy vastly improve my previously adequate swim style, he went above and beyond the call of duty as a swim coach and provided the voice of reason about training in general in those times that I needed reassurance that I was training well, he made sure I was doing all the right things and training hard but smart.  And to top it all off his race day support was unsurpassed, always there, always wanting to know how you were doing, and being so excited  and sharing your excitement and success.  I look forward to many more motivating coaching sessions from a great coach, athlete and mentor!

I had entered Ironman 2010 and was worried about the swim.  I knew I was okay on the bike and strong on the run, but was petrified about the swim.

And then I meet Jeremy.  Not only did he teach me how to utilise my stroke efficiently and breath effectively, but taught me confidence in the water.

I know I will never be an Olympic swimmer but with the “Jeremy Cronin” treatment, I always felt like a winner.

Not only was Jeremy my swim coach, but he was my mentor, my counsel and my friend.  He developed a training schedule that incorporated all three Ironman disciplines, that worked for me and around me - just what I needed to keep me focused and on track.  And he kept tabs not only on my training but how I was feeling and settled my constant doubts.

He was with me every step of the way … he was at the start line of Ironman and caught up with me to cheer me on in my run.  At the end of my swim I did much better than I had anticipated and came out of the water thinking Jeremy was going to be so proud.

His focus is his clients … he’s not just a coach but a real friend.

I highly recommend Jeremy to everyone … whether technique work, swim experience or learning to swim from scratch, Jeremy is your man.  I find the training in the endless pool is invaluable as Jeremy is right there beside you watching every stroke and kick.

Jeremy has a wealth of knowledge and experience and helped me not only with swimming, but fitness in the water, a personalised training plan, nutritional advice and was there for the emotional ups and downs …

After a session with Jeremy .. I always feel like a winner.

Thanks for everything Jeremy …

 JEREMY CRONIN

Although he’s short, his cheesy smile is as big as an over inflated hot air balloon. His smooth pale eyes watch my every move like a hawk watching a mouse. The tip of his heel is bony like an over grown tree branch. He’s as fast as a little child when Mr. Whippy is about. He’s as strong as a lion, his muscular arms swing as he sprints down the curvy narrow road. Clearly he loves the outdoors. His sunburnt cheeks are bright red like the rose in my garden.

It is clear that he loves his job and the adventures that come with it. Every time we meet he always has a challenging story about his newly conquered challenges and adventures. His crazy taste of music shows he is still in the day. No matter what it is it’s never done half hearted. He has the most radical sense of humour and always makes us cackle. When you do something right he will always scream “YEEHAH” in his random cowboy voice.

Sessions with Jezza always are the best when the sun is scorching hot. The dogs all bark and the birds all tweet as if to say hello. Even the neighbours greet him with a friendly hello or a cheesy toothless smile. It is obvious that he is well known by the Hillcrest community and he is sporty and fit. His running technique is strong but free and his mind is in the right space.

A freshly combed, chocolate brown nest of hair sits above his lime green sponsored tee shirt. It matches his sponsored shorts and socks. His yellow shoes are dirty and the beanie he wears in the morning camouflages him like a cheetah in the savannah.
